Hey guys! It’s Lisa. It’s been a while since I have done a video. I have not had time since last month, so I am just now getting back in to this swing of things, so it’s good to be back and to my regular routine. When I was out of town, I missed many things. A lot of my videos are inspired by e-mails that I receive, and the common theme while I was gone was the ‘desperate for money’ theme, and with today’s economy and everybody is losing their job, lay-offs, everything is crazy. Gas prices are ridiculous and so people are in need of money more than ever. I understand that, but I wanted to talk about how being desperate for money really, really, really works against you in this business. Most people have realized that making money online is about 80% mental, and when I say that, I mean first of all, you have to believe that you can succeed with this. I know that sounds very oprah, “Oh! You’ve got to believe in yourself”. But you really do because, I can say, many times I can hear people say, “I hate computers. I don’t know what I am doing. I am lost, I am confused, but I need to make a lot of money.” Well, why you are doing that when you start setting up yourself to fail by using those words, “I use computers, I need to make money right away, but I don’t know what I am doing.”? Why the way you are saying, “I am probably going to fail at this, but I want to make a lot of money anyway.” So if you got the wrong attitude from the beginning, you are ready in a sense, sort of doomed to fail. And also, when you are desperate to make money, what that means is, you need money now. That means you are not willing to accept that it could take you up to a year before you start seeing any decent money, so you lose patience. So when things aren’t going well or when you have to learn how to program your site or learn how to use software, you are not going to be patient, because the only thing you are thinking about is, “I’ve got to get rich.” So, my point is, if you want to money online, that has to be something other than ‘I want to get rich’ that keeps you motivated. Wanting to make a lot of money is not enough motivation to keep going. A lot of people think if they want this bad enough, then they should be able to succeed. Well, if you think about it, if that was the case, everybody and their brother would have a successful money-making website and will be making a lot of money online because who does it, want to make a lot of money. So my point is, you have to find something else beside ‘I want to get rich’ to motivate you. And one thing for me what really kept me going with this, was that I loved to write, and I also enjoyed the challenge of trying to figure out ways to explain things to people in layman’s terms, like, if you notice two of my most popular sites, those both sites teach people how to do something, but I break it down into layman’s terms – simplistic terms. For me, I have always enjoyed writing and I’ve always enjoyed trying to come up with ways to help people, in ways that other sites have not done. So that is something that I thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed. So even when the money was low or when I wasn’t hardly making anything at all, the love for this is what kind of kept me going. And also, I didn’t go into this expecting to make a whole lot of money and I didn’t put a timeframe on it. I didn’t say, “I want to try this, but I really want to make at least $6,000 in my first month”, or something unrealistic. A lot of people put timeframes on things like, “I want to make a lot of money fast”, in other words, desperate for money. So, when you’ve got that whole phrase playing in your head over and over again, “I’ve got to make money now, I’ve got to make money fast,” then you lose the patience. You lose the joy, there’s no way now you would be able to enjoy this. So as I said earlier, you’re pretty much doomed to fail. And another thing people have to come to terms with is, this is not for everyone and if it’s not for you, that’s okay. Maybe there is something else out there that is for you. But if making money right now and you won’t accept maybe having to wait or even invest a little money in this in the beginning – and when I say invest a little money, I don’t mean you have to spend $10,000 to get started. A website only costs you about $3 a month if it gives a regular webhost. So I am not talking about investing a whole lot of money in this. So if making money is your goal and you’re really serious about this, understand that being desperate for it is not going to get you anywhere. There are no programs out here that are going to get you rich quickly. I know there are a lot of those pages or programs that you see that usually require some upfront money and they say it is refundable, but you not are sure to get your money back. You have to go through all these hoops, and by the time you’ve gone to the point where you can maybe, qualify for refund, you’re exhausted and then find another reason why you can get it. So they’re pretty much more of scams. So stay away from those ‘get paid to serve’ them. There is no such thing as making money quickly. You have to be prepared to spend at least 6 months to a year learning, making mistakes, before you start to see that money. Now, there is always the exception. There are some people who are just savvy and get this, and can make money quicker than the average. But I am talking about the average person, and if you want to succeed out here, you’ve got to be prepared to be patient. Learn, make some mistakes, and most importantly, you’ve got to find something that you enjoy. So why are you focusing on the money so much? Learn the different ways that you can make money online and pick the one you think you have the most fun doing.
